Gleeson Gleanings is the WordPress blog we use to publish library news and updates.

Purpose

The blog functions as a communication, marketing, and outreach tool for Gleeson Library. It is a place to make announcements, share information about services and resources, and promote events. It is a place for library celebration, inspiration, creativity, and reflection.

Visibility

The blog is primarily accessed these ways:

  • Library homepage — there is a feature on the homepage that links to the blog
  • Social media — select blog posts are linked in Twitter and Instagram posts
  • Newsletters — select blog posts are linked as featured content in library newsletters

WordPress Account Types

Account Type Permissions Account Holders
Contributor Can write and edit their own posts but can't publish them Student workers, interns, etc.
Author Can write, upload photos to, edit, and publish their own posts Most library workers
Editor Can access all posts and pages Select members of the newsletter team
Admin Can access all posts and pages, invite people, and modify the site settings Systems Department
