Share Your Blog Post
Sharing your post is a crucial step in spreading the word and extending the reach of the library. The three most recent blog posts will automatically appear under the 'From the Blog' feature on the library homepage, but you should also consider other ways of promoting your post and increasing your readership.
Social Media
There are five Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts for Gleeson Library. These accounts are used to share library news and updates, so it often makes sense to promote blog posts on these platforms.
Platform | Account Handle | Account Name | Contact |
---|---|---|---|
@gleesonlibrary | Gleeson Library | Chanda | |
@GleesonLibrary | Gleeson Library | Chanda | |
@GleesonLibrary | Gleeson Library | Geschke Center, University of San Francisco | Chanda | |
@USFCA_Digi_Coll | Gleeson Library Digital Collections | Gina | |
@usfca_scua | USF Special Collections & University Archives | Annie R. |
Promoting Your Post on Social Media
Consider the content of your blog post and where it might make the most sense for promotion.
- Get in touch with one of the contacts listed to request your post be shared on the corresponding platform
- Two weeks notice is preferred for any social media requests
Library Newsletters
The library typically distributes newsletters — one for faculty and one for students — via email at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. The newsletter relies on posts from Gleeson Gleanings to be included as features in the email. Previous examples of newsletters:
Including Your Post in a Library Newsletter
Your blog post might work well as one of the features in the newsletters. There is typically a call for contributors to the newsletter a month or two before the beginning of the semester.
