Typography
A system of clear and consistent fonts, headings, and paragraph text.
About Typography
- Platforms — The same typography is used in LibGuides LibAnswers LibCal.
- Fonts — We use Google Fonts to exactly match the typography on the USFCA.EDU site.
Best Practices for Using Typography
- Avoid changing font formatting — Do not alter the font type, size, text color, or background color in the Rich Text Editor. These settings are predefined by our stylesheets. The font style is automatically applied based on the type of text (e.g., headings, paragraphs, etc.). If you need to paste text into the editor, always use the "Remove Format" option to ensure consistency.
- Use left text alignment — For consistency, all text should be aligned to the left. Do not use center, right, or justified text alignment on the library website.
Fonts
Three Google fonts are used on the library website:
- Fira Sans Extra Condensed — headings, titles, tables
- Fira Sans — button text, asset titles
- IBM Plex Serif — body, paragraph, lists

Headings provide structure and organization to our webpages.
