LibCal Best Practices

Standards for managing events, appointments, group study rooms, and hours.

LibApps Accounts

You must have a LibApps account in order to access the following Springshare systems:

  • LibApps — Manage your LibApps profile.
  • LibGuides — Create and edit library website content, e.g. research guides, internal staff guides, etc.
  • LibAnswers — Respond to patron inquiries submitted via ticketing queues, track reference transactions, submit FAQ entries, etc.
  • LibCal — Manage your Appointments, manage group study room bookings, create events to display on the library events calendar, etc.
  • LibWizard — Create forms, surveys, quizzes, and tutorials.

Log Into Your Account

Recommended: Use myUSF Credentials (SSO)

LibApps is integrated with the university’s single sign-on (SSO) system. This is the login method recommended by the Electronic Resources & Systems Department.

To log in:

  1. Go to the LibApps Login @ University of San Francisco page
  2. Choose myUSF Credentials
  3. Log in with your myUSF accountLibApps login screen for SSO

If you have questions, email: eresources-dept@usfca.edu

Alternative: Use LibApps Credentials with MFA

LibApps credentials are separate from your myUSF account. As of July 1, 2025, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required for anyone using this login method.

Important: We strongly recommend that SSO users also configure LibApps MFA as a backup. If the university's SSO system experiences downtime or technical issues, you won’t be able to log in with your myUSF credentials — unless you’ve already set up LibApps MFA.

  1. Go to the LibApps Login @ University of San Francisco page
  2. Choose Login with your LibApps account credentials, enter your username and password, and click Log Into LibAppsLibApps login screen for MFA
  3. Enter the 6-digit Authentication Code associated with Springshare from the Duo Mobile app
  4. Click VerifyVerify Duo Mobile screen

Note: You will need to manually open the Duo Mobile app to retrieve the code. You will not receive a push notification from Duo, as you do when logging in with your myUSF credentials.

  1. Go to the LibApps Login @ University of San Francisco page
  2. Choose Login with your LibApps account credentials, enter your username and password, and click Log Into LibAppsLibApps login screen for MFA

  5. Scan the provided QR code with your Duo Mobile app
    1. In the app, tap Add
    2. Select Use QR Code to open the camera and scan the code
  6. Enter the 6-digit verification code generated from the Duo Mobile app
  7. Click the Activate MFA button

After activating, the next time you log into LibApps you'll be prompted for the MFA code from Duo Mobile.
