Setup & Sync Calendars
Integrate your Appointments Schedule and Google Calendar.
Sync with Google Calendar
-
Set up your Google Calendar for syncing with LibCalGoogle Calendar integration allows you to automatically add your LibCal appointments to your Google Calendar.
- Supplementary notes:
- You will be notified about a project quota (12 is the default); this is a personal quota, so unless you are doing extensive API work, this will not affect you.
- Select the JSON format when creating your key; save the JSON file to your desktop, you will need this for a later step.
- Among the calendar permissions within Google, there are several options, including See only free/busy (hide details) and Make changes to events. The LibCal API needs the permission 'Make changes to events', but once set up the details of your calendar events will not appear in LibCal, despite not selecting See only free/busy (hide details).
- The next step will show how to install the API key.
Sync Your Appointments Schedule
-
Sync your Appointments schedule with a Google CalendarWhenever someone books an appointment with you, or you add a new appointment yourself, that event will be added automatically to your Google Calendar.
- Supplementary notes:
- For e-mail address, use the Google Service email that you used in the previous step (ie. xxxx@xxxx.iam.gserviceaccount.com)
- For Google Calendar ID, use your USF email address (ie. xxxx@usfca.edu)
- Select the box for Check Free/Busy times.
- There will be no noticeable changes after this step. The next step will show how to change your availability in LibCal to finish the syncing process.
