New & Trial Databases

Request a Database Trial

Gleeson Library invites current students, faculty, and staff, to request trials to electronic resources we do not subscribe to, in order to see if the resources meet the needs of our users and aligns with our Collection Development Policy. After reviewing and approving requests, the library will work directly with vendors to set up trial access for a limited period, and then share trial access information with requesters and post trials on our Databases A-Z page. If you request a trial, it is expected you will provide feedback to the library and vendor. Gleeson Library does not support repeated trials of resources for instructional or personal use. Additionally, many factors have to be considered, including budget, before we subscribe to or purchase a resource. By establishing a trial, we are not making a commitment to acquire the resource.

The library arranges for resource trials twice a year, in March and October. To request a trial, please reach out to your library liaison and then complete the trial request form below by February 14 for March, and September 15 for October. Your completed form will be sent to the library's Electronic Resources & Systems department. Please allow staff up two weeks to set up the trial. The ERS department does not arrange for product demos or training.
