Trial Requests Not Available During Academic Year 2024–25
This is due to reallocations impacting the library's materials acquisition budget. Please revisit this page in fall 2025. Thank you for your understanding.

Request a Database Trial

Gleeson Library invites current students, faculty, and staff, to request trials to electronic resources we do not subscribe to, in order to see if the resources meet the needs of our users and aligns with our Collection Development Policy. After reviewing and approving requests, the library will work directly with vendors to set up trial access for a limited period and then share trial access information with requesters and post trials on our Current Trials and Databases A-Z pages. Please keep these in mind when requesting a trial:

  • If you request a trial, it is expected you will provide feedback to the library and vendor.
  • The library does not support trials for personal use or repeated trials of resources.
  • Many factors, including budget, must be considered before we subscribe to or purchase a resource. By establishing a trial, Gleeson Library is not committing to acquiring the resource.

The library arranges for resource trials twice a year, in March and October. To request a trial, please reach out to your library liaison and then complete the trial request form below by February 14 for March, and September 15 for October. Your completed form will be sent to the library's Electronic Resources & Systems department. Please allow staff up to two weeks to set up the trial. The ERS department does not arrange product demos or training.
