About the RID Working Group
In 2021, librarians from several departments convened the Reparative and Inclusive Description working group at Gleeson Library | Geschke Center and Zief Library (University of San Francisco). We gather concerns, initiatives, and resources involving the description of resources at the libraries. Our goals include fostering a welcoming and inclusive experience with library resources and developing guidelines for the removal and remediation of biased language and use of inclusive and relevant language in description.
