About Me
I was born in Seattle and grew up in Portland. I am a graduate of Reed College and received my M.L.I.S. and M.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Work
I have served as Head of the Donohue Rare Book Room since 1998. Prior to that I was Special Collections Librarian at the University of Oregon Knight Library where I had responsibility for the rare book and photography collections. I am active in the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries. I am a past president of the Book Club of California and a member of the Roxburghe Club of San Francisco.
Interests
My professional interests include bibliography, printing history, and the fine press book in California. I am especially interested in the teaching aspect of special collections: making collections visible, relevant, and putting them in the hands of students and all who wish to access them. My outside interests include vinyl records, classic noir and crime fiction, and vintage scooters.
