- ProQuest CongressionalProQuest Congressional is especially useful for performing legislative histories and locating Congressional documents. It is also very useful for tracking legislation and major public policy issues, locating recent Congressional documents and related material in full text, and learning more about Congress and the legislative process.
- govinfoProvides free online access to official United States government publications. Maintained by the United States Government Publishing Office (GPO).
- Congress.govCongress.gov is the official website for U.S. federal legislative information. The site provides access to accurate, timely, and complete legislative information for Members of Congress, legislative agencies, and the public.

This includes resources pertaining to constitutions, statutes, cases and more. Run a search for case summaries or select a jurisdiction to browse applicable laws.
Financial Statements for Nonprofit Organizations
- Charity NavigatorCharity Navigator provides unbiased assessments of charities, and evaluates them based on criteria including financial health, transparency, and organizational activities. Includes charts of data, a rating system with explanations, and other metrics for evaluating the organization.
- GuideStarGuideStar Basic is free, and you can also register at the site for free to access even more data. Includes financial statements, tax forms, and information on programs, operations, and effectiveness.
- ProPublica Nonprofit ExplorerIncludes financial statements and tax data from the most current year. Includes historical data for tracking trends. Also includes independent auditors' reports on each organization.
- Highlights of IRS Form 990A document that explains the various data points of the IRS 990 nonprofit tax form, and explains their meaning and importance for evaluating the organization.
- Researching Nonprofits: The Bridgespan GroupIncludes useful tips for researching a nonprofit, including studying the organization and its operations, conducting site visits, and interviewing leadership and board members.
