Biographies inspired by San Francisco’s Ella Hill Hutch Community Center murals researched, written, and edited by the University of San Francisco’s Martín-Baró Scholars and Esther Madríz Diversity Scholars.
This website, created by students at the University of San Francisco, highlights the historical emergence of activist organizations within the Western Addition. Students in an African American Studies class and the Media Studies Senior Seminar visited local archives, collected data, conducted interviews, and observed and recorded the work of local community partners.
