General Information
This guide was created in collaboration with the 2023-24 Faculty Learning Community, Pedagogy for the Age of AI: Responding to and Learning From AI-generated Content, co-facilitated by Chris Brooks (CAS, Computer Science) and Nicole Gonzales Howell (CAS, Rhetoric, and Language). The purpose of this guide is to collate resources shared among the FLC and highlight resources. This guide will collates resources on AI and pedagogy, AI uses academic disciplines, citing AI, and more. Designed for all, this guide can be beneficial for students, professors, and the general public to grasp an understanding of the works of AI, its operations, limitations and benefits, as well as providing AI tools that can be utilized in everyday life.
Resources on AI at USFCA
- ETS Generative AI HubLearn more about GenAI tools for generating text, image, code, music, and other types of content.
- GenAI: Uses for Teaching and LearningRead more to discover applications for employing (and resisting) GenAI tool use in your classroom and in your own development of assignments and materials.
- GenAI: Guidelines for Academic IntegrityGenAI use presents challenges to academic integrity in different ways, as have other emerging technologies in the past. Determining clear parameters for when and how students can employ GenAI tools at the course level is the first step toward the goal of academic integrity. Providing such guidelines also creates a space for an open discussion, which supports learning over all.

- Co-Intelligence byISBN: 9780593716717Publication Date: 2024-04-02AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER From Wharton professor and author of the popular One Useful Thing Substack newsletter Ethan Mollick comes the definitive playbook for working, learning, and living in the new age of AI Something new entered our world in November 2022 -- the first general purpose AI that could pass for a human and do the kinds of creative, innovative work that only humans could do previously. In Co-Intelligence, Mollick urges us to engage with AI as co-worker, co-teacher, and coach. He assesses its profound impact on business and education, using dozens of real-time examples of AI in action. Co-Intelligence shows what it means to think and work together with smart machines, and why it's imperative that we master that skill. - Artificial Intelligence byISBN: 0374257833Publication Date: 2019-10-15Melanie Mitchell separates science fact from science fiction in this sweeping examination of the current state of AI and how it is remaking our world. The award-winning author Melanie Mitchell, a leading computer scientist, now reveals AI's turbulent history and the recent spate of apparent successes, grand hopes, and emerging fears surrounding it. In Artificial Intelligence, Mitchell turns to the most urgent questions concerning AI today: How intelligent--really--are the best AI programs? How do they work? What can they actually do, and when do they fail? How humanlike do we expect them to become, and how soon do we need to worry about them surpassing us? Along the way, she introduces the dominant models of modern AI and machine learning, describing cutting-edge AI programs, their human inventors, and the historical lines of thought underpinning recent achievements. She explores the profound disconnect between the hype and the actual achievements in AI, providing a clear sense of what the field has accomplished and how much further it has to go. Interweaving stories about the science of AI and the people behind it, Artificial Intelligence brims with clear-sighted, captivating, and accessible accounts of the most interesting and provocative modern work in the field, flavored with Mitchell's humor and personal observations.
