About Me

I am a white, non-binary, queer person from a working class background. My pronouns are they/them/theirs and she/her/hers. I am a first generation college student with a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies from the University of Illinois.

Work

I have been working at USF as a reference & instruction librarian since February 2011. My primary duties involve supporting the School of Education programs through library instruction and collection development. I am a member of the USF Bias Education Resource Team and the Working Group on Universal Access. In addition to library instruction, I also co-facilitate workshops on race and gender identity.

Interests

I am passionate about critical pedagogy, universal design and transformative justice. I am currently researching the ways in which aspects of facilitation and multi--partial mediation can inform critical library instruction. I am an intergroup dialog facilitator with RISE for Racial Justice as well as a volunteer mediator and conflict coach with SEEDS Community Resolution Center. I am trained as a restorative justice facilitator, and I welcome opportunities to engage in community building both inside and outside the classroom.
