Students will evaluate primary and secondary sources available to them through USF databases and collections to select appropriate resources for research assignments.
Primary Sources
Students will be able to recognize and describe what a primary source is, and list the types of materials that are typically considered primary sources.
Secondary Sources
Students will be able to identify and describe secondary sources, and recognize where to search that yields secondary sources in the results.

After a quick refresh on how to identify primary and secondary sources, compare and contrast the key elements in determining primary and secondary sources to distinguish its eligibility for students' research assignment criteria.
Primary Sources Across Subject Disciplines
What is considered a primary source in one discipline may be considered a secondary source in another; students will record the key types of sources that are considered primary in the different disciplines to effectively employ their resources in their programs.
