I am a farmer's granddaughter originally from Wisconsin, who now calls the Bay Area home. I have a BA in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Scandinavian Studies from UCLA, attended International Summer School at the University of Oslo and acquired my Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) from Syracuse University.
I have a broad professional history from business management to field research; working at The Hammer Museum and at the creative writing nonprofit, National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). I have a deep love of learning and teaching through empowerment.
I love plants, science fiction, fantasy, graphic novels, and am a bit of a Nordiphile, enjoying Scandinavian film and television.
