- Country Statistical YearbooksThis guide, presented by the Data & Information Services Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries, provides links to country statistical yearbooks or similar collections (census, "facts and figures," etc.) for 154 countries worldwide.
City and Regional Statistics
- Eurostat Regions and Cities IllustratedEurostat is the statistical office of the European Union. This website provides easy access to sub-national data for Europe.
- Global Data LabThe Global Data Lab (GDL) is an independent data and research center at the Nijmegen School of Management of Radboud University. Building upon over 500 household survey datasets from the major data providers for low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), GDL has built one of the largest existing databases for LMICs, containing information on over 35 million individuals in 130+ countries. INCLUDES SUBNATIONAL DATA.
- OECD Regions and Cities Statististical AtlasThe OECD Regions and Cities Statistical Atlas is a web-platform that allows visualising maps and charts for a wide range of statistical indicators at the subnational scale, all of which are downloadable in CSV format. The available indicators, which are also available in the OECD statistical portal, cover crucial demographic, social, economic and environmental topics. While most indicators are primarily available for OECD member countries, a sub-set of indicators on population, builtup area and air quality have a global coverage that includes all the cities (and their commuting zones) in the world of at least 50 000 inhabitants.

- Human Development Data and IndicatorsThis website provides access to data and indicators associated with the UN's Human Development Report.
- FAOSTATFAOSTAT, the Statistics Division of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, provides access to data for 245 countries and 35 regional areas from 1961 through the most recent year available.

- World Bank Open DataFree and open access to global development data.
- World Development IndicatorsThis is the primary World Bank collection of development indicators, compiled from officially-recognized international sources. It presents the most current and accurate global development data available, and includes national, regional and global estimates.
- World Bank Microdata LibraryThe Microdata Library is a collection of datasets from the World Bank and other international, regional and national organizations. Users need to create an account to access the data and may need to create additional accounts when using data hosted by other agencies.

- DHS Program (Demographic and Health Surveys)Ready-to-use data for over 90 countries from over 300 surveys covering the topics of demographics, health, and nutrition. The DHS Program is a USAID-funded project implemented by ICF International.
- Google Dataset SearchDataset Search is a search engine for datasets. Using a simple keyword search, users can discover datasets hosted in thousands of repositories across the Web.
